“Suggesting that women have abortions for “convenience” diminishes the hard work of women and is beyond insulting. Living my dream is my right. Not having my body hijacked, especially when I am doing everything possible to prevent pregnancy, is my right. I refuse to be told that my dreams are inconvenient and should be sacrificed.”

“Every 21 seconds, our next possible leader receives a crappy public education, misses out on invaluable opportunities due to his family’s indigence as a result of a health crisis, is forced to work two minimum wage jobs in order to survive and cannot possibly invest in the world around them, commits suicide because of the despair of being bullied because of his sexuality, is benighted by denialism and anti-intellectualism, or finds herself forced against her will to sacrifice her future for a baby she doesn’t want to give birth to.”

“Our findings demonstrate that sexist humor is not simply benign amusement. For men who have sexist attitudes it can create a perceived social norm of tolerance of discrimination against women, and as a result, increase personal tolerance of discrimination against women and even increase willingness to engage in sexist behavior without fears of disapproval.”

“It should be noted that CNN and other news organizations have thoroughly debunked the rumors about the president’s birthplace. Hawaii has released a copy of the president’s birth certificate - officially called a “certificate of live birth” - and the hospital where he was born took out ads in two Hawaiian newspapers in 1961 announcing the birth.”

This should not be the last sentence, buried after several paragraphs of boring. This should be shouted loud and clear.

Here’s what bugs me. People are all “Oooh, a certificate of live birth isn’t a REAL birth certificate!” Except, it is. It’s just another name for another thing. I can call an egg a chicken period, but no one’s going to go around denying it’s an egg.
